Prospector Pete No.2
The advetures of Prospector Pete No.2 is a continuation of Pete's battle with Claim Jumpin Clem over gold and the affections of Passionate Patsey.
No.2 was shot using a Auricon Pro-600 using a Som Bernoit, side view finder, zoom lens, on 100 ASA kodak Black and white negative. A dark blue lens was used on the cameras lens to reduce the amount of light entering the camera, limit the light entering the camera to one color to improve focus, and to darken pink a red flesh tones around the eyes of the actors. All three effects worked well.
The whole film was shot in about 6 hours, and then the crew and cast broke for a late lunch of sandwiches, cheatos and cream sodas.
Shooting may have gone faster but, even though this is a silent film, the sound caputing ability of the Auricon camera was used. The Pro-600 has the ability to capture sound directly to the film as an optical recording that may be played back using any standard 16mm projector. The sound, upon playback of the work print, was warbly a little scratchy but but there and has a certain supple vintage quality like nothing else.
